As parents and guardians of JCPS students in the Archer Lodge/Flowers area, we face a troubling prospect. The proposed reassignment of our students from Archer Lodge Middle School to Selma Middle School presents a major inconvenience - both logistically and in terms of school performance. Sending our children 20 minutes outside of our community, and twice the distance from their current middle school assignment, puts undue stress on families, especially when children participate in extra-curricular activities that remain in the Archer Lodge area.

Not only does this proposed reassignment bring logistical difficulties, but we must also consider the academic potential of our children. Over the last 5 years, Archer Lodge Middle School has consistently maintained a grade of B/C while Selma Middle School's has been a D/F. This suggests a stark difference in educational quality which could potentially hinder our children's academic development, and ultimately their futures.

We believe our children deserve better. We call on the school board to rethink this reassignment and consider the major implications it brings for the students in the Archer Lodge/Flowers area community's children. Join us in seeking a better solution. Please, sign this petition.
