All Hands on Deck! Important Atlanta NPU-A and ZRB Meetings this week concerning the historic Gresham Building at the Galloway School, which has been recognized by the National Historic Registry. We need as many members of the Atlanta Community as possible to Attend and to Voice their Support for Saving this Treasured Building from Demolition.
We are urging all local Atlanta community members to attend the NPU-A Meeting, this Tuesday, June 4 at 7:00pm at the Atlanta Speech School, 3160 Northside Pkwy NW, Atlanta, GA.
If you are an NPU-A resident it is especially important to attend as you are entitled to vote on the School’s pending rezoning application which the School seeks in order to go foward with its redevelopment plan which includes demolishing Gresham. Your vote can make a real difference in helping to save Gresham. All community members are entitled to speak and ask questions at the meeting.
Two days later, there is a Zoning Review Board hearing on Thursday, June 6 at 6:00pm at the Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave SW, Atlanta, GA, for which members of the community can again voice their support for saving Gresham.
The Galloway School’s current rezoning application, SPI-26, as currently drafted enables the School to proceed with its redevelopment plan which includes demolition of the historic Gresham building. At either meeting, we urge community members to state their support for:
(1) Requiring the preservation of the historic Gresham building;
(2) Including the voices of the neighboring community;
(3) Abiding by existing statutes governing SPI’s;
(4) Adhering to NPU-A amendments concerning other limitations on the Galloway School property.
If enough members of the Atlanta community participate and speak out at one or both meetings, we can make a real difference in saving Gresham from demolition!
