My husband is one of many British Columbians who suffer from Wet Macular Degeneration, a condition that requires regular eye injections every 4-6 weeks to maintain vision. These treatments can cost up to $1700 per visit, a prohibitive expense for many. The provincial government's eye injection programme currently covers these costs, providing vital support for those with Wet Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Macular Edema and Retinal Vein Occlusion.

However, the BC government is considering cutting this life-changing programme. This decision would not only affect my husband but also countless others in our community who rely on these treatments to prevent their vision from deteriorating further or even going blind.

We urge you to write to your local MLA, Health Minister Adrian Dix and Premier David Eby appealing this decision. Let them know how crucial it is that we continue funding the eye injection programme and ensure that all residents of British Columbia have access to necessary medical care without facing financial hardship.
