All the donating here just pushes this petition out for others to see. “I would like to add this is NOT a family type of camp ground, if you go to my Facebook and like will find more information”. This is a  struggle for our community. The proposed new campground is threatening to disrupt our residential surroundings. It's not merely about the implications on aesthetics, rather this is a call to preserve our homes from potential hindrances in terms of taxes, roadways, noise ordinances, and unnecessary emergency and non-emergency calls. 

Experts have long recognized the potential disruption camping facilities can cause in residential areas. Statistically, improper waste disposal, increased volume of emergency calls and noise pollution can be an added problem in such circumstances (source: Municipal Research and Services Center).

Moreover, our taxes should be invested in improving local services and infrastructure, not in subsidizing unnecessary intrusions into our residential area. The potential increase in heavy road use and consequent wear and tear raises serious concerns about long-term maintenance expenses, which ultimately falls on our hard-earned money.

The silence of our community is being invaded by the clamor of recreational activities that could potentially disrupt our daily living. The World Health Organization has clear guidelines on community noise which could be breached in such situations, causing unintended stress for residents.

Finally, increasing emergency and non-emergency calls not only add to the financial burden, but could also potentially hamper services in genuine needs/extreme situations.

This is our plea to authorities: Stop the progression of the new campground development. In its place, let's explore other avenues of development that values and upholds our community, not disrupts it. Support our cause, sign the petition. New Facebook page called STOP Campit 2.0
