My faithful canine companion was unfortunately exposed to harmful chemicals used in prevalent weed control products. This personal experience opened my eyes to the hazards that many animals, both pets and wildlife, face every day due to these products. We are worried about the health of our pets and the loss of our local wildlife due to harmful exposure.

Each year, thousands of animals suffer from poisoning due to exposure to these weed control products in the United States alone (ASPCA). The sad truth is that even when used as directed, these products can release toxic vapors and residues that are harmful to animals when they come into contact with them or ingest them.

We understand the need for weed control, but this doesn't excuse the inadvertent harm that we are causing our beloved pets and the local wildlife. We urge manufacturers of these dangerous pesticides to transition to safer alternatives and for local and national authorities to take a firm stand towards banning these harmful weed control products.
