This is a deeply personal issue for me - one that has filled my days and nights with sorrow. I have witnessed the heart-wrenching sight of innocent dogs being killed in the streets of Morocco. These animals, who have as much right to live, feel joy, and experience compassion as us humans, are being needlessly slaughtered. The violence and lack of empathy I have witnessed people inflicting upon them is unbearable to watch. They cry out in pain, their eyes mirror fear, confusion, and betrayal, leaving an indelible mark on my heart.

These horrifying events are being spurred on by the controversial decision to "clean up" the localities in preparation for FIFA 2025. It's estimated that thousands of dogs have already fallen victim to this ruthless agenda (source: local observations and reports). I would like to stress that these are sentient beings, capable of feeling the same pain and fear that we humans do, being mercilessly killed all in the name of image maintenance.

Because of this, I urge the Moroccan government to reconsider their approach and immediately take action to stop this massacre. There are countless humane alternatives such as shelter provisions, sterilization programs, and community education that can ensure both the welfare of these dogs and the image of our nation. We ask the government to acknowledge the suffering and initiate prompt action.
