Until the investigation committee concludes its report and the Supreme Court makes its decision, patience is required
Possibility of NEET UG Re-exam 2024
In light of recent events, students question whether the NTA will conduct a re-exam for NEET 2024. Previously, in 2015, the Supreme Court cancelled the AIPMT due to a paper leak before the exam. Similar allegations have surfaced this year during the NEET UG exam, particularly in Rajasthan, where students reported receiving premarked question booklets on May 5, 2024, and incidents of paper leak were alleged. However, the NTA, through its Director General Subodh Kumar Singh, denied these allegations in a press conference, stating that all exam papers are securely managed online with no possibility of leakage.
Despite these assurances and the lack of concrete evidence of a paper leak, concerns have been raised regarding the NTA’s decision to award grace marks to 1563 students. In response, the Central Education Ministry has formed a committee chaired by a former UPSC chairperson to review these grace marks. The committee is expected to submit its findings within a week, potentially affecting the marks of these students. However, NTA maintains that there is no justification for a re-examination of the NEET UG 2024 based on unfounded allegations of a paper leak.
