HALT THE INHUMANE TREATMENT AND DEPORTATION OF IMMIGRANTS- STOP ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ

The Issue

We, the undersigned, call upon our elected officials, the Department of Homeland Security, and all airline partners to immediately:

Halt construction of the so-called “Alligator Alcatraz” immigration detention center being fast-tracked in the Florida Everglades — a sacred and ecologically sensitive site.
End the inhumane treatment and mass deportation of immigrants, many of whom are asylum seekers, parents, and long-standing members of our communities.
Investigate and hold accountable any airlines contracted to transport migrants against their will, and demand transparency about their involvement in deportation flights.
Uphold the constitutional and human rights of all individuals, regardless of immigration status.
Include Indigenous leaders, environmental experts, and human rights organizations in all discussions regarding land use, immigration facilities, and enforcement practices.
The facility being built at Dade-Collier Airport — surrounded by swamp, alligators, and isolation — is a moral and humanitarian crisis in the making. Its location in sacred Native territory and one of our nation’s most vital ecosystems is both disrespectful and dangerous. Using wildlife as a deterrent to escape is not security — it's cruelty.

This is not who we are. This is not what our Constitution stands for.

We stand together — as citizens, as neighbors, and as protectors of democracy — to demand dignity, due process, and justice for all.

No more cages. No more cruelty. No more Alligator Alcatraz.
