This petition calls for an immediate halt in the increase in the cost of kennel licenses. Many of us have endured a year without adequate animal control officers, which presents a significant risk due to the growing number of stray animals roaming the streets. Kennel license holders actively contribute to a solution by offering a safe, regulated environment for these animals, thereby preventing more strays from ending up in shelters. It is thus the responsible thing to do and should be encouraged, rather than punished with high fees. However, these unfair cost hikes in kennel licenses are putting undue strain on our mission to do right by our animals. We urge those in charge to reconsider this decision and recognize our vital contribution to animal welfare. Please support this call by adding your signature to our petition.

to see the information that the animal services department is providing for the board of supervisors and to justify this being increased please click the link below. If you thoroughly go over the information, I do not believe that the fee increase is justifiable. I also feel that the fee increase would be taken better had there been an animal control regulation officer employed currently or majority of the year as this position has been vacant since May so we have had more time during this year without animal services in the county than we have had with. Especially if they want to increase the fee, a service should be provided to the public and the permit holders to remove stray dogs that pose a risk to the public and to commercial kennels.
