Please spread the word and do what you can to attend our peaceful protest demonstration on Saturday 9th March, 9am at Bo'ness Recreation Centre.
The aim? To show the size and scale of the voice of Bo'ness and our concern about the councils current course of action. A press opportunity to show how many people this impacts, the clubs and generations of people living in Bo'ness, who want to voice the importance of having leisure facilities serving the community in our town.
We want to show that the Bo'ness people have legitimate concern about the future direction of our town. We are not happy with the decision that has been made under mixed and arguably dubious circumstances. We want a full survey review with the decision reviewed in light of the updated survery, along with a clear demonstrated plan of action for sports & leisure development, regardless of the outcome and before the closure commences.
Please follow @SaveBRC on X (formerly Twitter) and Save Bo'ness Reccy Campaign on Facebook.
Some recent updates that were supplied to the press:
Recently a formal complaint has been lodged asking Falkirk Council to explain changes in a document recording the impact its closure would have. Campaigner Dorothy Ostacchini has asked a series of questions about how the decision to close the centre was made.
In particular, she wants know why the council’s own Equality and Poverty Impact Assessment, published in 2023, has major differences with the version presented to councillors when they took the final decision to close the centre last month.
