Halt the Genocide Against Rohingya: Demand Global Action for Protection and Justice

The Issue

"We Are Rohingya: Stop the Genocide"

To: The United Nations, Human Rights Organizations, and Global Leaders

I write this as a Rohingya, a person whose existence has been denied for decades. We have been called stateless, illegal, unwanted—but we are none of these. We are humans, just like you.

Since 1982, Myanmar has stripped us of our citizenship. They erased our identity, burned our homes, and forced us into exile. In 2012, they attacked us. In 2017, they massacred us. More than a million of us fled to Bangladesh, leaving everything behind.

Now, in 2024, the genocide continues. On August 5, 2024, a drone attack killed 200 innocent Rohingya. How many more must die before the world listens?

Our Demands

We are not asking for favors. We are demanding basic human rights:

1. Stop the Killing – Myanmar’s military and Arakan Army must end their attacks on Rohingya.

2. Restore Our Citizenship – Repeal the 1982 Citizenship Law and recognize Rohingya as Myanmar citizens.

3. Ensure Our Safety – The United Nations must send peacekeepers to protect Rohingya communities.

4. Hold War Criminals Accountable – The International Criminal Court (ICC) must prosecute Myanmar’s military for war crimes.

5. Allow Safe Return – Refugees must be allowed to return home with international guarantees of protection.

Why This Matters

We are not criminals. We are not terrorists. We are people who want to live in peace. If the world stays silent, the killings will continue.
