I am a resident of The Hadley, and I am writing with a sense of urgency and concern about the City of Mountain View's plan to construct the Evelyn Mini Park. This development, due to begin very soon, will replace a well-maintained lawn with a small park that many of us feel is unnecessary.

The construction process is scheduled to last a dauntingly long 18 months, stretching all the way until the end of 2025. This means our shared outdoor space will be cordoned off, inaccessible to residents for over a year, eliminating a much-needed respite.

Beyond this, the quality of our day-to-day lives will be threatened. Construction brings with it noise and dust that will affect us all, from remote workers unable to concentrate, to older residents who cherish their peace and quiet, to young families who will have to keep their windows sealed to prevent dust infiltration. It will also impact our furry friends by taking away their dog park.

The views we currently enjoy from our apartments, a highlight of living here, will be replaced by construction vehicles and ultimately a park that many of us did not ask for.

I urge the residents of The Hadley to come together and push the City of Mountain View to reconsider the Evelyn Mini Park project. Please sign this petition; let's strive to maintain the charm and comfort of our residential community.
