Halt the Development of vital eco systems to Protect Wildlife
The Issue
As a child, I frequently visited a local nature reserve, a tranquil sanctuary bustling with life. However, as I grew older, I began to notice a disturbing and steady decline in the reserve's size. Vast expanses of woodland have been swallowed by new housing developments, shrinking the habitat of wildlife that once thrived there. I watched as creatures, who called this land their home, suffered due to these unsettling changes. Where are they supposed to live now? Where are these innocent creatures expected to find refuge?
In the UK, we have lost over half of our hedgerows and around 60% of our wildlife – reported by The State of Britain's Hedgehogs 2018 report – since the 1970s due to urbanization. Moreover, research indicates that the loss of natural habitats is the greatest threat to biodiversity globally. If this trend continues, we risk not only the loss of these beautiful creatures but also the essential ecological balance they help to maintain.Do you think this is fair ? Swapping there homes and in affect there lives for a house for ourselves. Human are going to take over every patch of land and this is not right . They have a right to live as well , the world is not just ours . We must share our world .
We request that the government and local councils halt further land and woodland development for housing. This should not be done without the implementation of sustainable and ecological strategies that will ensure the protection and survival of our indigenous wildlife. We encourage them to devise housing schemes with consideration for nature, laying the groundwork for a future where development and wildlife can cohabitate meaningfully.
Although these creatures are often viewed as 'just animals ' there is still and life and unique soul within theses creatures. Please be considerate and give back to these animals who have already lost so much because of us humans / human activity already. It's isn't fair to take everything.
We implore you to act by signing this petition, fighting to make the homes of animals a priority.
