Halt the Development of an Outdoor Park in Our R2 Zoning District.

Halt the Development of an Outdoor Park in Our R2 Zoning District.
The Issue
I'm a resident of the neighborhood where the proposal to develop an outdoor recreation facility, or 'pocket park,' in our R2 (Two Family Residential) Zoning District. Located at (6001 Barrett St. @ corner of Herd St.) is being considered. This is personal for me and many of my neighbors. Why? Because it's our community, and our homes are in the immediate vicinity of this impending development.
Our neighborhood prides itself on its peaceful ambiance and tight-knit community. Creating a 'pocket park' in our district would attract unanticipated traffic, raising noise levels and disturbing our neighborhood's tranquility. Beyond these concerns, there is also the potential for an increase in loitering, which would further disrupt our day-to-day living.
Our neighborhood may not hold city-wide recognition, but that doesn't reduce its importance. On the contrary, it's the small, residential communities like ours that make up the backbone of any city. Popularizing our neighborhood with attractions like parks could damage our socio-cultural structure and cause devastating displacement.
We urge the necessary authorities to reconsider this decision and understand the impact it will have on our community. This is our plea to preserve our homes and our way of life. Please, sign this petition and support us in our fight to keep our neighborhood as it is.
