As someone who cherishes wildlife and its natural habitats,  our community is experiencing the brutal, senseless destruction of eagle nests in our community. Property owners have been removing nests, endangering the safety of these magnificent birds and their helpless chicks. According to the National Audubon Society, Bald Eagles, once on the brink of extinction, have made a remarkable recovery due the Endangered Species Act of 1973. However, despite their comeback, their survival still depends on the continuous protection of their habitats.

The unlawful destruction of eagle nests is a violation of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act which carries severe financial penalties and imprisonment.
