The HCU land, a significant area of rich biodiversity and home to numerous species, is under dire threat due to ongoing deforestation activities. This green space not only contributes to biodiversity but also plays a crucial role in moderating climate change effects. As per the Forest Survey of India, a consistent deforestation activity can lead to an increase in temperature, alteration in precipitation patterns, and increase in the frequency of severe weather events.

Moreover, sustainable land management is imperative to the livelihood of local people who rely on these lands for their survival. This uncontrolled deforestation is detrimental to their socioeconomic standing as well.

We urge the responsible authorities to halt any further deforestation of the HCU land, and begin a rehabilitation program for already cleared areas. We seek immediate attention and drastic action on this matter to ensure the survival of this vital environment and the people that rely on it. Let's make an effort to restore the lost green cover and ameliorate the effects of climate change. Please sign this petition to show your strong support against HCU land deforestation.
