Hello Petition Supporters,
At the planning commission meeting almost two weeks ago, the developer tabled their proposal for 14 days while they made minor adjustments (side walk dimensions, bike rack spacing, etc) to their plans. The Planning Commission still took public comment, but there were no decisions made. Tomorrow, Monday 2/24, is the follow-up meeting scheduled at 5:30 PM. They will take more public comments at that time. It's been my experience so far that comments and concerns about safety and/or traffic issues are the areas where we have the largest ability to make an impact, despite all the other very good reasons this development should not be allowed.
I encourage you to attend in person or virtually via the Zoom Meeting, link attached. Public comment and presence can be very impactful. This project is the first item of unfinished business on the agenda so it should be up for discussion very quickly if this meeting goes anything like that last one.
