I am a longtime resident of Surgionsville, TN, living alongside friends and aiding in sustaining the community we proudly call home. Recently, a development plan has been proposed for the use of 60 acres off Stanley Valley Rd that deeply troubles us. This proposal is for a venture known as “Newearth Tennessee Micronation,” which seeks to move 1,000 residences into our small town, a number that significantly outweighs our capacity and threatens to strain our local infrastructure beyond its limits.

The group behind this project is charging an exorbitant sum of $10,000 plus processing fees for membership within this so-called Micronation, creating an exclusive, cult-like atmosphere right in our backyard. This is not only a potential ethical issue, but also a socioeconomic wedge that threatens to divide our close-knit community. Additionally, the environmental impact of such construction on our beautiful Tennessee landscape could be irreversible. 

Without population control, such development can lead to extensive environmental degradation by causing loss of biodiversity, soil erosion, and increase pollution (Source: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency). Development of this magnitude should be thoughtful, sustainable and cognizant of its impact on the community and environment.

We implore our local government, zoning committee, and fellow residents to advocate against this intrusive development plan. Let's preserve the tranquility, solidarity, and distinctive character of our beloved Surgionsville, TN. Sign this petition to stand against the creation of "NewEarth Tennessee MicroNation" and protect our community.
