Global News and the city has released the official locations of the 6 designated shelter locations that were selected by nameless city officials to "Depoliticize " the these locations.   Your elected officials can hide behind their hired PR firms rather than have the backbone to face their constituents and explain the reasons behind these decisions.

Again, let me state that out of all six, 66 third street is the only one located on a residential street and not a main street.  

Even advocates for the homeless maintain that these shelters are not fixing the issue. 

Please notice that although the City claims that these are all near transit - not one is on the bloor subway line , not one is in an affluent area of the city- the city appear to deliberately be dumping these shelters on areas that already bare the burden of higher social housing services than other areas of the city - there is a decided inequity.   I don't want to suggest that the city is deliberately moving the homeless away from the cities core ... but, well.. you be the judge?  

Our area of New Toronto currently has 64% of all the social support housing for the entire region of Etobicoke. It's not that we don't wish to support those in need, it's that we have so much that we are literally drowning and it's time to put on our own life jackets.
