I am a resident of Prospect SA, Australia and my peace and tranquility are under threat. A proposed 4-storey complex with 36 units is set to rise adjacent to my home. The problem? This development only plans for 11 available car parking spaces.

This isn't just an inconvenience; it's a potential nightmare for our community. With more than three times as many units as parking spaces, this development could lead to increased traffic congestion, noise pollution, and safety concerns in our neighbourhood.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), there are approximately 1.9 cars per household in South Australia. Applying this average to the proposed complex means we could potentially have an additional 68 vehicles vying for street parking or causing congestion on our local roads.

We must consider the impact on our community's quality of life – not just now but also for future generations living here in Prospect SA. We need developments that respect and enhance our community rather than disrupt it.

We urge local authorities to reconsider this project's approval until adequate parking provisions are made within the design plan that aligns with ABS statistics on vehicle ownership per household.
