My twin sons, both notable for their football talents, recently earned acceptance into Holyrood Secondary School in Glasgow. Our joy, however, has been dampened by the proposed cancellation of the Balloch to Glasgow bus service by the First Bus company, significantly impacting our family alongside many others. This bus service is not just transport; it's the lifeline that connects my sons to their education and future ambitions.

Despite promising excellent educational opportunities, Holyrood Secondary School is difficult to reach without the service, especially for students like my sons whose talents lie outside the academic realm. The predicament affects us, but we are not alone; numerous families in Balloch, Alexandria and Renton are similarly impacted. 

This isn't just about one bus route. It's about the accessibility of education, unabridged potential, and ensuring prosperity for all students irrespective of their geographical location or income.

We implore First Bus and any relevant local authorities to rethink the cancellation, taking into account the long-term educational and societal implications of their decision on the lives of many people in Balloch, Alexandria and Renton.
