Not content to build a huge complex, the out-of-town developer has submitted revised plans which add 3 bedroom units making the project footprint larger and increasing the number of parking spaces necessary. But the developer unrealistically thinks 154 parking spots is enough for 100 apartments whereas studies show instead 2-3 parking spots necessary for this number of units. "Let them use the streets," seems to be the thinking.

To make things worse, 200 filled parking spots will essentially block Fire Department and emergency vehicle access to the complex and possibly to the existing Mission Oaks development as well. 

Let the Solvang City Council know you object to this developer's outrageous assumption that excess parking and emergency vehicle access is Solvang's problem, not his. SAFETY FIRST BEFORE DEVELOPMENT!
