Halt the Alle-Catt Wind Turbine Project to Ensure Resident Safety

The Issue

As a local resident of the area (Freedom, Certerville, Rushford, Farmersville and Arcade) where the Alle-Catt wind turbine project is proposed to be constructed, I am deeply concerned about the multitude of potential health hazards. These towering turbines, reaching an astounding height of 660 ft, will not only affect the health of my neighbors and me, but our livestock and diverse wildlife native to our region will also be at stake.

The adverse impacts emanating from these turbines cannot be understated. The endless cacophony of noise generated by the rotating blades, the penetrating hum of infrasound, and the unsettling visual interruption caused by excessive shadow flicker could have severe consequences on our mental well-being. In the cold months, these wind turbines also pose a significant risk due to ice throw.

Many of us live within close proximity of these proposed turbine sites, making us vulnerable to these undesired disturbances and ultimately, to health risks. In fact, the World Health Organization's environmental noise guidelines for the European region provide strong evidence that noise is one of the top environmental hazards to both physical and mental health ("Burden of disease from environmental noise, WHO").

We must consider the long-term impact on our community before proceeding with the Alle-Catt wind turbine project. A healthier and safer community should be our priority. I urge you to join me in calling for an immediate halt to the Alle-Catt wind turbine project for the sake of our well-being and the protection of our environment. Please sign this petition.

There are many residents that did not sign up for this. Many have been left in the dark. It is not too late to make your voice heard.
