Our community Parkway Villages, is currently grappling with a dangerous habit - reckless speeding. The safety of our children and the peacefulness of our neighborhood are at stake. Recent data has shown an upsurge in car accidents in residential areas. Data from the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety reveals a considerable growth in vehicle crashes, with over 20% of all vehicular accidents in Georgia happening due to speed violations. This places the lives and safety of our community members, particularly children, in jeopardy. Our streets are not racetracks, they are home to children playing, families walking, and community members going about their daily lives. We need immediate attention from our community to implement stricter speed control measures and enforce existing traffic rules to deter reckless drivers by implementing speed bumps, traps, and/or speed meters. Let's work together to make our Atlanta neighborhood a safer place to live, free from the fear of reckless drivers.
