Halt Operations of BARC Shelter for Unnecessary Euthanasia of Animals
The Issue
I am an ardent animal lover, and it devastates me to see the unwarranted loss of animal life at BARC Shelter, a facility known for high-kill practices. BARC Shelter euthanizes several animals every day - including puppies, dogs, cats, and kittens; several are in perfectly good health and could have enriched someone's life with immeasurable love.
The issue becomes more perturbing when you consider the fact that more than 6.5 million animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year (according to ASPCA), and many of them are healthy, adoptable pets who are simply euthanized due to space constraints or outdated policies. Any future where healthy animals are deemed disposable is a bleak one. This act of killing animals is very cruel and inhumane.
Here is a photo of Armani, a beautiful healthy and happy dog that was killed by BARC on 06/24/2024 at the age of 1 yr and 7 month for no reason. The same heartbreaking story that repeats itself daily with the many animals that are euthanized at this high kill shelter.
We aim to protect these innocent lives by demanding the closure of BARC Shelter unless it drastically changes its high-kill policy. We believe this action could lead to a paradigm shift in animal treatment not just in our vicinity, but across the nation. Those animals have rights but no voices, please be their voice.
Please sign this petition to demand that BARC Shelter stop its high-kill policy and work towards a future where every animal has a fair chance at life. Your signature can make a difference for these animals who cannot voice their own plea for survival.
