

One of the problems with the current logging operation in Stanley Park is that is being misrepresented to the public.
One example is that the City of Vancouver, in its press releases and literature, suggests that only dead or irreversibly damaged trees are being cut down.
There is abundance of observable evidence that this claim is false. The above photo, taken today on Pipeline Road, depicts but one of many examples of seemingly healthy trees being destroyed.
In the reporting linked below, the City implies that only dead and dying trees are being cut:
"The city says, of the trees coming down, 140,000 are young, dead and brown trees under 20 centimetres in diametre. It adds the remaining 20,000 dead trees are larger than 20 centimetres in diametre."
