Dear Residents and Neighbors of El Camino Village,
It has been some time since my last update, but I want to assure you that we continue to work diligently on this matter.
It has come to our attention that Vargas Properties has submitted new plans for the development located at 15101 Crenshaw Blvd., Gardena, CA 90249 (Project No. PRJ2024-001599), which will include "some" parking. The size of the development requires 220 spaces, but Vargas requested a reduction to 54 parking spaces, which was approved by Diana Gonzalez, Principal Planner of LA County Planning.
The project now includes 54 parking spaces in a subterranean garage and approximately 1,400 square feet of ground floor commercial space oriented toward Crenshaw.
I have requested a meeting to discuss the waivers granted for the reduction in parking and will share that information as soon as I have it. Additionally, there is a scheduled hearing on March 26, 2025, for City of Gardena vs. County of Los Angeles (Case No. 245TCP03577). It is scheduled to be heard at 9:30 am at 111 North Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
