Good morning all,

I wanted to provide an update of discussions I've been having and brutality of what we are facing.  

2/4 Highbury Avenue is a double block that sold a couple of years ago, could not be developed and is on the market again.  The agent (Lawd) is advertising the property with "proposed 8 storeys" and "ocean views".  I have confirmed with Bayside council there is no such proposal in place, no plans approved, and we actually don't live anywhere near an ocean.  I also raised the matter with Consumer Affairs Victoria as misleading advertising.

Today I spoke to the Director of Lawd Lukas Byrnes who is very confident that 8 storeys is allowed, and has been signed off by the state government.  He also informed me that there is precedence in the area (there isn't).
 
He informed me they are comfortable with the ad and is 100% certain that 8 storeys will go in.
 
He had zero consideration for community response or impact.  I said I understood his drivers and motivation so the discussion is somewhat moot. 
 
As a side note, I also rang Buxton Real Estate to better understand the use of the term "proposed" the agent from Buxton told me proposed was commonly used, and allowed, and I should move to Beaumaris as there were no train stations there.

We, as a community can stand up to this.  If we don't we are going to lose our suburb to high rise monstrosities forever.  You all know my official petition, I beg each of you to talk to each other and create some noise regarding absolute lunacy of what is transpiring.  

I am open to anyone that may have any suggestions on what else I can do, what we can do as a community.  This is not the other side of the freeway, this is not in some remote area this is in yours and my backyard.  8 STOREYS.  Any and all help / ideas / suggestions / spreading the word is appreciated.  Thank you.
