Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania is more than just a place on the map; it's our home. Many of us have raised our children here, enjoying the tranquility and safety of this community. As we watch our children grow, we dream of a future for them that preserves the essence and environment we’ve cherished. But now, that future is under threat.

Plans for aggressive development on Ridge Road and Route 202 threaten not only to transform our beloved community into yet another overcrowded hub but also to impact the way we live in drastic ways. This proposed development would bring more businesses we don't need—additional grocery stores, car washes, liquor stores—while sacrificing the precious green spaces that define our township.

Traffic congestion is no small issue here; the roads already strain under the weight of daily commuters. Imagine the drastic increase in traffic; it’s a safety concern that cannot be overlooked. With more vehicles, the risk of accidents rises, creating dangerous conditions on roads that are shared by school buses, cars, and cyclists alike.

Furthermore, the environmental impact of such development cannot be dismissed. Our green spaces play a crucial role in supporting our local ecosystem and providing habitats for countless species.  It also shares the same water table that feeds many of our wells.  It's imperative that we protect these areas to maintain the biodiversity that enriches our lives and preserves safe water sources for future generations.

We call upon local authorities - including Chadds Ford Township and Concord Township - as well as planners and developers to halt these plans and reconsider the impacts of such widespread development. Let's prioritize sustainable growth that aligns with our community values and protects our environment.
