Halt Cruel Culling Practices Towards Stray Dogs in Gilgit, Pakistan

Halt Cruel Culling Practices Towards Stray Dogs in Gilgit, Pakistan
The Issue
This issue is deeply personal to me. Animal cruelty, particularly to defenseless beings such as stray dogs, is a grave injustice that I cannot stand by and watch. We're talking about Gilgit, Pakistan, where unjust practices are affecting the lives of innocent stray dogs on a massive scale.
Gilgit entirely relies on tourism for its economy and the government has decided that the stray dogs are a nuisance.
The government's chosen mode of population control through inhumane culling is deeply troubling. These defenseless animals are met with unthinkable cruelty — they don't deserve this fate. They are being hunted and shot on the streets. - in some cases left to die a slow painful death. Instead, humane methods can be used to control the stray dog population, such as sterilization and vaccination, which have been successful worldwide.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that sterilization reduces conflicts with humans as well as the spread of rabies, making our communities safer and healthier. It's high time that we lobby for a change towards these scientifically-backed methods.
Let's demand that the Gilgit government immediately halt their cruel culling practices and instead adopt humane methods to deal with the stray dogs' overpopulation. The voiceless need our help. We must unite and change this situation — because no being deserves to suffer this kind of torment. Please sign the petition and demand justice for these innocent lives.
