For over six decades, the squash courts at Norths Leagues Club have been a cornerstone of community sport in Northern Sydney. They are more than just sporting venues—they are places where friendships are forged, skills are honed, and generations of players have nurtured their love for squash. The potential closure of these 65-year-old courts, coupled with the imminent shutdown of the Willoughby courts, threatens to strip the lower North Shore of all its squash facilities. 

The preservation of these courts is crucial not only for current enthusiasts but for future generations who deserve access to such community amenities. The courts have served as an integral meeting point for both competitive and recreational players, bolstering local community spirit and encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle across different age groups.

We urge the Norths Board to reconsider this decision. Additionally, a comprehensive review of the court utilisation plan and revenue projections should be conducted to ensure it meets the needs of both Norths Collective and its members.

We stress the importance of transparency and member involvement in decision-making processes.
