Dear Supporters,

Thank you for your incredible continued support for our campaign. I wanted to provide a critical update on where we stand.

Last week, we presented Cornerstone with the undeniable evidence that their planning approval for the Sketchley Road mast was based on a "material falsehood"—their false claim to have consulted the specialist Menphys Nursery. We issued a final ultimatum, demanding they meet with us to discuss the mast's removal and relocation.

Yesterday, we received their final response. They have unequivocally refused to meet, have stated they find "no misleading information was provided," and have informed us they have "no further comments on this matter at this time."

They have chosen to ignore the evidence. They have chosen to ignore our community.

Our Response and What Happens Now

We have formally closed direct correspondence with Cornerstone. Their refusal is not the end of this fight; it is the end of the beginning. We are now escalating our campaign on three fronts:

Political Pressure: We have sent the full evidence file to our MP, Dr. Luke Evans, and have asked for his urgent and direct intervention with Cornerstone's senior management.

Media Pressure: We will be formally presenting the full story and all supporting evidence to senior journalists and are now actively preparing to brief other national and local media outlets.

Regulatory Pressure: Our formal complaint of "severe maladministration" against the council remains with the Local Government Ombudsman.
The Next Step: Preparing for a Legal Challenge

Cornerstone is betting that we do not have the power to force them to act. They are wrong.

Our other option is a Judicial Review in the High Court to have the original, flawed planning decision quashed. We have received initial advice that we have a good case to qualify for an extension.

To do this, we need to hire a specialist legal team. Therefore, we are now preparing to launch a CrowdJustice fundraising campaign to cover the legal costs. We will be asking for the whole community's support to build a fighting fund and show this corporation that we will not be ignored. When we have legal counsel we will update you on this - and should we no longer need the support it will be returned to you.

Please look out for the launch of this page in the coming days.

They think they can get away with this. Together, we will prove them wrong.

Thank you for your continued support,

Sarah Vermeire (On behalf of the Sketchley Mast Action Group)
