I am a pediatric nurse. My mother passed away from cancer at a young age. The pain caused by this life-changing event has led me to dedicate myself to protecting the health of children. Now, there is a planned construction for a 5G tower between Earl Rudder Middle School and William J Thornton Elementary School off Pembroke Rd. I believe it's our responsibility to ensure the safety of our children from all potential hazards, including those we may not fully understand yet.

5G technology is relatively new and comprehensive research to conclusively determine its impact on health is still ongoing. It's a fact, according to the World Health Organization, that exposure to certain types of radiation can lead to diseases such as cancer. Although the radiation from 5G towers is considered non-ionizing and is not yet confirmed to cause such diseases, I believe we must adopt a preventative approach, especially when it comes to our children.

I am therefore asking for the suspension of the tower's construction until further research assures us of its safety. For the safety of our children and for the peace of mind of all parents and caregivers, let's halt the impending tower's construction and give scientists and researchers the time they need to ascertain the impact of such technological advancements at close range on young children.
