Have Jack Dunavant step down

Have Jack Dunavant step down
The Issue
The purpose of this petition is to set the record straight on at least four issues
1. That race relations in Halifax county has not been always peaceful and perfect, just ask those who integrated schools in the mid-sixties under the "freedom of choice plan", a strategy devised to resist the Brown integration order
2. That the patronizing labels of "uncle and aunt" has never been accepted by the Black community. It has always been perceived as the woeful disrespect it was- the refusal to afford the titles of Mr.;Mrs.; or Miss to Black men or women
3. That "family" has meant and means as much or more to the Black community and still welcomes those not of their own blood line as in the days of slavery and "Jim Crow"- especially those fathered by the "master" and tenant farm owner.
4. To demonstrate that this community will not tolerate such race bating comments from its public officials and call for Mr. Dunavant's immediate resignation from public office.
