Fort Greene residents need a stop sign at the intersection of Willougby Avenue and Washington Park, which is at one of the main pedestrian and wheelchair-accessible entrances to Fort Greene Park. This crossing is a heavy lane for foot traffic used by all residents, including parents and their children, dog walkers, visitors to the park, school-aged children and teens, and those on their way to the weekly farmers market on Washington Park. Every other Willoughby Ave crossing in Fort Greene has either a stop sign or a red light. This intersection has no posted pedestrian sign, stop sign, or even a painted crosswalk sign. Drivers of passenger and commercial vehicles regularly speed and  fail to yield here. Please help make the neighborhood safer for all residents and visitors by supporting our request for a stop sign.
