We have heard time and time again that masks work, masks do not work.. when will we know what is best for us and our clients? Between myself and other stylists, working 12 hour days or longer, these masks cause nothing but headaches, irritation and more problems. Cosmetologists go through extensive training in school about sanitation. We use barbicide and other sanitation products to clean our stations, bowls, and tools including: brushes, combs, blow dryers, clippers, shears, etc. We have done this since before COVID started and will continue to sanitize by the state law. Please consider signing our petition to not wear a mask. We understand that some clients are at high risk and that is up to their discretion if they come into the salon. We have abided by the state laws of social distancing and it should be up to the stylist and/or client if they think a mask is required. In this summer heat, wearing a mask 12 hours a day is hot and not good for our health. We ask clients to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer before their service and we continue to wash throughout the day.
