As residents of Hackney, one of the most diverse boroughs in the UK, we are deeply disturbed by the complete silence and inaction of our local leadership in the face of the Laura Pascal scandal.

Our Mayor and Labour Councillors have shown complicity in their support for candidate Laura Pascal, despite revelations about her alarming social media posts that compare transwomen to blackface. 

The silence from our elected officials not only condones such harmful views but also undermines the trust we've placed in them.

We call for accountability for those who are supposed to represent us and demand the immediate resignation of ALL councillors who have remained silent amidst these revelations about Laura Pascal.
