Opposition of Annexation of "Baldwin Village" at Thompson Road and Wilbanks Road
The Issue
Essentially, in a nutshell, Lula Capital, LLC (Ryan Chitwood) wants to take the very rural property behind DQ on 365 in Habersham County and convert it to an area with 730 TOTAL RESIDENTIAL UNITS plus a shopping strip. Lula Capital, LLC (Ryan Chitwood) has purchased 145 acres and is attempting to convert it to: Pod A--commercial (10 acres with at least 5 businesses), Pod B--Multifamily (20 acres); Pod C--single family attached (32.5 acres); Pod D-- Single Family Detached (43.5 acres); and Pod E--Single Family Detached (39 acres). This will add 50 driveways to Wilbanks Road and thousands of cars attempting to access 365 from a small, two lane road. In addition, Baldwin City Council attempted to annex the property on 06/08/2020; however, they told a group of concerned citizens that it was "a county issue." Therefore, we are going to the county. We do not need this for Level Grove Elementary, South Habersham Middle School, noise, traffic, congestion, conservation of land, pressure on local fire and police, intrusion of privacy, etc...Baldwin already has 7 subdivisions. They do NOT need to intrude on our beautiful road. If you live near Wilbanks Road, Thompson Road, Alto-Mud Creek, Mud Creek OR work at Level Grove Elementary or South Habersham Middle....PLEASE TAKE NOTE.....Thank you!
