Change the Gwinnett policy against offering Municipal Election Services

The Issue

Most Georgia counties offer municipal election services as an optional service to the cities in the county. Of the eight counties that surround Gwinnett, all of them will manage city elections if requested by a city council.

However, the Gwinnett County Board of Elections has a policy that expressly prohibits the County Elections Office from managing municipal elections, other than loaning voting equipment, for Gwinnett cities.

This means voters have to go to two places to vote and decreases voter participation.

If you live in Gwinnett, sign this petition to ask the Board of Elections to:

  1. Rescind their policy prohibiting the County Elections Office from managing municipal elections for Gwinnett cities.
  2. Work with interested Gwinnett cities to develop a menu of municipal election services at a reasonable price.
