The coronavirus (COVID-19) is a global pandemic that has impacted several citizens of gwinnett county. Counties within Georgia, along with private schools are taking action to begin digital learning days for students. The virus has proven to be deadly to certain individuals and has created a panic across the globe. The Gwinnett County Board of Education needs to be PROACTIVE to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 virus. Gwinnett County needs to take action and cancel school and all school related activities from March 23-27 in addition to the March 16-20 cancellation. Students can continue their learning online through e-class in order to stay up to date on class work. The lives of our students and community members is far more important than any other concern. Governor Kemp of Georgia has suggested schools be closed for a MINIMUM of two weeks and several counties have already acted on his advice. Sign this petition to influence Gwinnett County in making the right decision by closing school for an additional week.
