GUMTREE continue to allow individuals to advertise their family pets - FREE TO A GOOD HOME - they go on to say things like:

"Hi I'm looking for a new home no fault of her own I rehoming her as i think a new born baby will get all love and the dog feel pushed out and dog name is lilly I had her form 7weeks old lilly is years old good with kids and loves her walks"  

or

"Beautiful dogs both are a year and a half old looking to go to a good home asap. Both have wonderful temperaments and would be a wonderful addition to any family! We have to re-home due to a change in circumstances and would like them to go to a home where we could occasionally visit them. Please make sure you meet the following criteria before calling... still available!"

Very sadly the owners believe that they are doing a good thing, but what they don't realise is that the people who fuel dog fighting are also looking for bait dogs.......these are any dog, any puppy, anything that they can get for free and they will convince the innocent.  The men will send their wives and children to convince people that the home on offer is a good one.

This could be your dog after it has been used as bait....if it is lucky it is rescued and patched back up....otherwise it goes for another round and dead or not is then put in the rubbish....THIS IS YOUR UK....ASK GUMTREE NOT TO SUPPORT THE POSSIBLE RISK THAT YOUR BEST INTENTIONS ARE DESTROYED.

Gumtree, please put a minimum fee to advertise any animal for sale....you could suggest that the fee goes to a charity and you could offer your list for people to choose......
