Penny the pig was awarded worlds smallest pig recently. Pigs can grow till age 5 and she’s not even that old. She has been awarded this title because of her height and that’s a measurement only important to breeders, used to sell pigs. When Penny is compared to the condition of swine score card, she is viewed as unhealthy. This will be a huge injustice to future pigs bought by unknowing buyers. Her image is all over social media and misleads people into thinking that she is possibly the norm. Her award combined with her size will do nothing but harm many many pigs, and cause starvation to achieve an unrealistic size. The pigs don’t care about awards, they just want to eat, be healthy and happy. Guinness needs to realize that not all vets are educated about potbelly pigs and that her award may have been given under false pretenses, on top of promoting abuse.
