To Keep Our Guide Dog Puppy Edward

The Issue

Edward is our 4th Guide Dog Puppy In Training. Edward came to us when he was 7 weeks old from Guide Dogs For The Blind. At Edward's 12 week vaccinations it was discovered that he had a loud heart murmur. Guide Dogs arranged for Edward to see a Veterinary Cardiologist, where he was given the devastating diagnosis of Severe Sub-Aortic Stenosis.

For Edward this will mean he is unlikely to live past the age of 6-12 months. He is currently recieving medication to regulate his heart rate but there is no surgical option.

On recieving this diagnosis, Guide Dogs have decided that it would be in Edward's best interests to remove him from our loving family home.

As a family, we are truly heart-broken by Guide Dogs decision. We wish to care for Edward for the short time that he has left and give him the best which he deserves.
