We must try to stop the state pension from being taxed, which would introduce means-testing by stealth, and there are always advocates for scrapping or means-testing other pensioner benefits. The crisis in social care was again side-lined by the Chancellor in her spending statement yesterday, and thousands of older people are having to sell their family home each year when they have to go into residential care. And we are always campaigning to stamp out age discrimination in the NHS and improve access for older patients.
