Each year, the Guam Department of Education gives $12 million dollars to Guam Power Authority for dirty energy. It is estimated that GDOE can save $6 million dollars a year by switching to solar energy. The money saved by switching to solar energy could be reinvested into the schools and our community. Our teachers, kids and community deserve better than to keep paying for dirty energy that is costly and harms our planet. All across the world, people are making the transition to renewable energy and it is time that Guam does to.
