TW: Rape and abuse

In 2019, a student at city High was (allegedly) raped by her boyfriend at the time. There are several screenshots in evidence of him forcing her to allow him over to her house while her father was not home, and once there, he (allegedly) repeatedly asked her if she wanted to have sex until finally she relented in fear that if she fought back further, the incident would be worse and consist of further physical harm and force. Coerced consent is not consent. Pressured and forced consent is not consent.

The day that alayne broke up with Erik, she confinded in another student, telling her of the (alleged) rape and abuse endured. The student asked if Alayne wanted to report him, and at the dtime she said no in fear that he would leak the nudes that he (allegedly) forced her to take. She later changed her mine when she discovered that someone very important to her was later (allegedly) raped by Eric as well.

Despite two rape allegations and gathered evidence, the Grand Rapids Police Department decided there wasn't enough data to prosecute and closed the case. Despite (alleged) repeated abuse and sexual assault on school grounds and repeated reports of rape off campus, city high middle school refused to expel Erik and only suspended him for a week.

Now that school is back in session victims of Erik's (alleged) abuse are force to be in classes with him and / or pass him in the halls. He has repeatedly ridiculed the experience of his (alleged) victims and harrased them. Nothing is being done to handle this situation.

The goal of this petition is for the case on Erik Miguel Martinez to be reopened and for the school to reevaluate punishment. If you can, sign this petition and contact GRPD and City High Middle School.
