My name is Jacob A Rush II, and I am a senior and straight A student at Abeka Christian Academy. My dream is to complete college while also obtaining a trade certification in dental assisting, which will allow me to gain some experience in my dream career in the medical field as an Anesthesiologist. I strive for excellence in everything that I do, and I understand that life has obstacles that will try to derail plans. I am sure of my purpose, and I am sure of my identity. I will become a Doctor, and I will have a ⁣positive impact on the lives of those I treat and in my community. While I have encountered this instance of discrimination, I will rise above it and continue staying true to the higher calling that God has placed on my life. I know who I am, and I know WHOSE I am.

I’m grateful to all 101,327 of you because we couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for every signature, every share, and every encouraging comment. If you’re wondering what made them finally change their mind, to put it simply it was the public pressure from all of you. Let this be a reminder to all of us that our voices matter and our collective efforts can make a huge impact.

While completing my high school curriculum, I was also enrolled at Tarrant County College (TCC). I’m happy to announce that I will be graduating from TCC in 3-weeks with my Associate’s degree. I haven’t decided where I will continue my education this fall, but I’m incredibly excited for this next chapter in my life as I work towards becoming an anesthesiologist.

If you’d like to contribute to my college fund, here’s the official GoFundMe page.
