According to a study, done by the Journal of Adolescent Health, 50% of the LGBT male teens that they interviewed reported that they had used an adult hookup app. This is not only illegal but also one hundred percent immoral. These are teens are do not have their brains fully developed yet.

Grindr is a popular social media app that is used for queer men to hook-up with one another. They have a rule that is required by law, that only people 18+ can use the app, this is to prevent child predators and rape. However, they do not enforce this rule at all. When one creates an account, they have a simple singular notification that reminds people of the age requirement. Other than that, they have a question of what the user's age is, and nothing else. It has the same security as the likes of many popular online children's games, such as Wizards101, or Club Penguin. Grindr must add additional security to prevent rape and child predators. They can easily require the user to show proof of ID (perhaps a picture of their driver's license, like Etsy does). You wouldn't allow a teen to simply tell a bartender that they are 21, you require proof. Hold Grindr to the same standards. This is a real-world problem. Sign to fix it!
