Restart Gen:lock season 2
The Issue
When your change in platform for a show happens, what you don't want is a sudden tone shift, nor a show that was originally a fun Mecha Anime falling into 1st season of gundam's tier of happiness, suddenly become Evangelion 2: Depressed Pilots and suicidal slaves.
I have a feeling Grey himself didn't ask for this himself, the pointless sex scenes in 3 and 4 prove that HBO had more of a voice in writing the show than they ever should have, then there's the fact HBO is killing off people who've had very little time to be developed despite being MAIN CAST or important to someone's arc for no reason other than shock value is a disgusting practice, and what ruined the end of Game of Thrones, and that's what they should have learnt from.
Now what I'm asking for is a rebooting of genlock's second season to at least make things more developed and less, everything is hopeless, main character killing themselves isn't an issue, let alone them being THE FAN FAVE CHARACTER throughout all of season 1 as the only one who got a lot of development
Here's the list of bad plot lines that have popped up so far:
1- Chase has suddenly went backwards,
becoming closed off and to quote Weller on the edge of mental collapse despite at the end of season 1 becoming a man without a body but one willing to share the mind he did have to save his friends and family
2- sudden religious overtones to a show that originally was about the UN vs what was first implied to be either a megacorporation, or as their name implied a possibly a Syndicalist nation being a workers union republic
3- Sudden addition of meaningless sex scenes,
I'd say the nature of Val and Kazu's was more natural in nature, and if you wanted to go down a sex scene in a show like this that's how you could do it, but the one with Miranda was really only there to kill a plotline from season 1
4- Sudden killing of 2 main characters,
Kazu, his death could have been done justice, if they did use the copy they have as a new Kazu which the others need to get used to but Cammie's was disgraceful and just put in to have way darker themes, her even going against a line said in season 1 to get an ending that had shock factor
5- misinterpretation of suicide and depression
Cammie's death via suicide, was a bad way to cover it, sure it was 'religious suicide' to 'join something more' but up until this point she had been said to be VERY logical, and not trust tech outright, let alone, she had throughout this season been going on about how the group was like a family to her, just because they don't want to share every little detail about her, and that she had lost most of her family in the past, doesn't make it correct to say she is suddenly suicidal, let alone going from fighting in her 'family' to taking part as a religious sacrifice the next day
6- Adding more LGBTQ+ just to do it
Val is pan and fluid because Asia Kate Dillon is yes, that I understand and support, but at this point they're making sure to throw in a LGBTQ+ character wherever they can, not that you should really need to point them out, leave them in, but don't make it scream 'HEY I'M GAY' the way Val was revealed to be a fluid pan, was the BEST way i've ever seen an LGBTQ+ reveal in a show, and the most realistic, while the recent reveal of Sinclare being gay, was just horribly done
