Health and Safety Level Three at Michigan Tech Now!

The Issue

Forcing students to choose between their education and their health is wrong.

Worse yet, it is a false dichotomy.

Last year, the Fall of 2020, Michigan Tech transitioned to Hybrid and Remote learning in response to rapid increases in COVID-19 cases in our campus community.  These measures protected our community and provided the support and guidance necessary for students, faculty, and staff to maintain educational continuity.

For not just the safety and well-being of our community, but also the success of educational instruction at Michigan Tech, we must move to hybrid and remote learning.

Michigan Tech must move to Health and Safety Level three immediately.

We do not have time to wait for more students, housemates, and friends to test positive for COVID-19; The virus is already out of control despite the best efforts of masking and vaccinations.
